Pantomime

Pantomime 2026

The 2026 Multi Media Event takes place on April 24-25, 2026, at 6:30 p.m., during 沙巴体育官网’s Bicentennial year.

PANTOMIME is a collaborative design effort tasked with revealing what is untold through fiber, sculpture, object, and movement. We define PANTOMIME as the art of conveying a story through gestures free of speech. This performance centered show seeks to present an alternative to our dystopian moment through the activation of function. Injecting imagination into the relationship between objects and the body allows the reality of survival to be surpassed.

PANTOMIME pulls on elements from the real world to manufacture something worth building toward. We craft narratives that mirror our reality and idealistic aspirations. With an open acceptance of changing technologies, a commitment to craft, and a willingness to collaborate, PANTOMIME builds a world ready for tomorrow. Together, we see our current moment and step toward something better.

Multi Media Event I and II combine as a year-long collaborative opportunity for students to operate across the boundaries of multiple artistic disciplines by utilizing experimental fashion, performance, and body-focused sculpture.

Hunter Stearns

Hunter Stearns

Hunter Stearns is a multimedia artist from Baltimore, Maryland. As a current General Fine Arts senior, Hunter creates work that encapsulates nostalgia and memory, questioning the idea of artwork being “complete.” Their work in sound art, film, and fashion design combine to create compelling narratives stemming from nostalgic interests. Hunter captures the spontaneity of youthful creativity through bright colors and fun patterns, piecing incomplete fragments of memories together like puzzle pieces.

Charlotte Witty

Charlotte Witty

Charlotte Witty is an emerging artist and fashion designer currently pursuing a BFA degree at the Maryland Institute College of Art (沙巴体育官网). Her studies are interdisciplinary, focusing on Textiles, Garment Design, and Curatorial Practices, with a strong emphasis on sustainable methodology in all aspects of her work. Through her personal brand, C.M.Witty, she designs and creates one-ofa- kind, well-made garments engineered for longevity and ethical consumption. Since elementary school she had wanted to be able to sew her own unique garments, and through her public school years had learned through purchased patterns. Last year she took an advanced garment class with Herion Park, who taught her how to design garments, drape on a dress form, draft patterns, pattern grading, and dart manipulation. This past year she has continued learning more about fashion design from Hope Simpara though taking her MME class, where she has learned corset construction, suit construction, and couture finishing techniques such as french seams, seam binding, linings and underlinings. Every piece of clothing is first designed, then draped, then patterned, before the pieces are cut, ironed, interfaced or interlined, and sewn together. Each garment has taken well over 70 hours to create from start to finish, from just an idea to an actual wearable garment that has all the necessary finishings. She is highly motivated to put in the work to make the garments the best they can be, whether that’s in garment and finishing techniques used, or dyeing techniques that are applied to achieve the desired color.
